Mother Annie Artis, 78, passed on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Willow Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Elm Grove Church Ministries, 118 Booker Street, Pikeville, NC. There will be a viewing held on Monday, September 5, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC. She will be laid to rest at Golden Gate Memorial Gardens, 4734 Highway 117 North, Pikeville, NC.

She was born on in Wayne County, NC on September 1, 1942 1942 in Wayne County North Carolina to the late Annie McLean and Norman Tyson. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Artis of Goldsboro NC; one son, Anthony Artis (Lisa) of Bridgeton, NJ; one daughter, Jacqueline Washington of Goldsboro, NC; grandson: Derrick and Asai (Dropsy); 12 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 1 great-great and other relatives and friends.
