September 4, 2021, 69, Goldsboro –

Lynn Dianne Edwards Kornegay, 69, began rest in her eternal home on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Dianne was born in Johnston County to the late Leon and Nancy Lorean Robbins Edwards on November 16, 1951. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, LeAnna Dianne Kornegay; sister, Nancy Yvonne Davenport; and brothers, Douglas Earl Edwards and Bobby Wayne Edwards.

Dianne had worked with J.J. Haines and later became a valued employee of Wal-Mart in Goldsboro.

Dianne was a member of New Hope Friends Church in Goldsboro. She was devoted to her church and was involved in activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God. Dianne enjoyed reading, crocheting and being near the swimming pool. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. in New Hope Friends Cemetery with Pastor Andrew Hise officiating. Attendees are asked to follow all COVID protocols which include wearing a face covering and practicing social distancing.

Dianne is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Milton Andrew Kornegay; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Todd Jones; son, William Andrew “Billy” Kornegay (Paula); grandchildren, Brian Christopher Jones, Corbett Braxton Kornegay and Madison Annette Kornegay; and a great-grandchild, Greyson Corbett Andrew Kornegay.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to New Hope Friends Church, 4451 U.S. Hwy. 70 East, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
