August 27, 2021, 58, Pikeville –

James Daniel “Rooster” Pittman, age 58, of Pikeville, NC, passed away Friday at Wayne/UNC Healthcare.  Born in Wayne County, NC, he was the son of the late Edwin Miller and Dora Marie Boyette Pittman.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 11:00 am at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Holder officiating.  Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.  The family will visit with family and friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Pittman is survived by his wife, Suzanne Pagitt Pittman; two sons, Tim Pittman, Jayson & Taylor Pittman; his daughter, Amber Pittman (fiancé, Jimmy Brandenburg); brother, Kenny & Denise Pittman; sister, Phyllis Pittman Seigworth; seven grandchildren, Savannah, Madilyn, Ellison, Kayleigh, Kayson, Camden, Aubrey and Karter (on the way).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Marie Long.
