Danny Keith Barnes, 65, of Pikeville passed away Monday, August 30, 2021 at his home.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont with Reverend Barry Stallings officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

Mr. Barnes was born in Wayne County on November 30, 1955 to the late James Lassiter Barnes Sr. and Katie Deans Barnes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Bobby Barnes; three daughters, Amanda Grant (Brandon) of Pikeville, Vickie Barnes Thomas (Jeramiah) of Pikeville and Krystal Barnes (Shaun Phillips) of Kenly; one brother, David Barnes (Debby) of Pikeville and three grandchildren, Avery, Libby and Bryson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James “Jimmy” Lassiter Barnes Jr.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
