45% Of County’s Population Receives First Dose Of COVID Vaccine

Over 55,000 people have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Wayne County. 

Monday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services show 55,588 people have received at least one vaccine dose, representing 45% of the county’s population.  48,606 people have been fully vaccinated, which is just 39% of Wayne County’s population.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to increase in Wayne County, with 792 new cases reported in the last 14 days.

The COVID-19 vaccine is available at the Wayne County Health Department, and appointments are available at www.waynegov.com/vaccine.  As of Monday, the Wayne County Health Department has distributed all of its Summer Cards to vaccine recipients and drivers.
