United Way’s Volunteer Fair Also Serves As Campaign Kickoff Event

There are numerous opportunities for everyday residents to give back to the Wayne County community.

The United Way of Wayne County is holding a Volunteer Fair this week where local non-profits can show off what they do and their volunteer needs.

United Way Executive Director Sherry Archibald talked about the Volunteer Fair with Jeff Farrow on Goldsboro’s Greatest Hits 1150 and 98.3.

Archibald says more than 30 vendors will take part in the event.

The volunteer fair is an easy way for people to learn about rewarding volunteer opportunities in Wayne County.

The volunteer fair is for people of all ages from teens to seniors and will showcase a variety of opportunities that will appeal to everyone from animal lovers to artists.

The United Way will also officially kickoff its 2021 Community Campaign during the Volunteer Fair.

Campaign Chair Bethany Perry says this year’s goal is to raise over $850,000 to impact 17,000 lives in Wayne County.

Door prizes will be awarded to both exhibitors and volunteers attending.

The United Way’s Volunteer Fair will be held at The Maxwell Center this Tuesday, August 31, from 10 AM – 1 PM.

WGBR’s Jeff Farrow will broadcast live from the Volunteer Fair on Tuesday from 11 AM – 1 PM.
