Margaret Rose Brogden West, 78, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Castle Creek Memory Care in Castle Hayne. Born in Johnston County on October 15, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Brogden and Annie May Temple Brogden.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Faye Goff.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Marlene Powell, Merita Ann Holmes, Lisa Sue Gay, and Jennifer Lynn Gardner; sister, Ann Farmer; twelve grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Margaret was a dedicated and faithful servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. When her children were young, she taught Sunday School at Friendly Holiness Church. Margaret had a beautiful voice and often sang on the Gospel Radio Channel broadcast from Mount Olive.

A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Park with her son-in-law, Brian Gay officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
