August 18, 2021, 74, Kenly –

Kimber Sherrill Dawson, 74, of Kenly, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, West Virginia. Sherrill was born in Wayne County on April 7, 1947 to the late Malvern Kimber Dawson and Ruby Lee Gardner Dawson.

Kimber is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce Lassiter Dawson; son, Christopher Dawson and wife, Michelle of Indian Trail, N.C.; daughter, Heather Currie and husband, Keith of Kenly; grandchildren, Sydney Dawson, Bayley Dawson, Trevor Dawson, Kimberly Currie, Nicole Currie; sisters, Rhonda Gail Cox and husband, John of Pikeville and Joy Wallace and husband, Ron of Rolesville, and several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Sherrill was a member of the Micro First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Choir Member.  He loved his church family dearly.  He truly was a God–fearing man.  He loved golfing, it was his main hobby, and his golf buddies were very special to him.  Sherrill was a past member of the Kiwanis Club and the Kenly Chamber of Commerce.

Most of all, Sherrill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was loved by many,  

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Micro First Baptist Church in Micro with Reverend Tim Stevens officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations in Princeton, NC.  At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Heather and Keith Currie, 1337 Bay Valley Road, Kenly, NC  27542.

Although flowers are welcome, the family suggest that contributions be made to the Micro First Baptist Church, PO Box 130, Micro, NC  27555.
