Face Masks To Be Required At City Facilities

In light of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, employees and visitors — regardless of vaccination status — will be required to wear face coverings at all City of Goldsboro facilities. This requirement is effective beginning Monday, Aug. 23.

City employees and visitors will be required to wear a face covering/mask when within 6 feet of another person inside City facilities or City vehicles unless an exception identified in a current NC Governor Executive Order applies. Employees and visitors are encouraged to follow the 3Ws (Wait 6 feet apart, Wear a mask, and Wash hands) in other settings as appropriate.

The City’s mask requirement follows the current guidance from the Centers for Disease Control that all people wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission to reduce the risk of becoming infected with the Delta variant and potentially spreading it to others.
