Donald Ray Summerlin, 63, died Sunday night, August 15, 2021, at his home.
Donald Ray was the son of the late Larry Clyde “Nub” and Edna Rae Whaley Summerlin. His working career was that of being a metal fabricator and millwright. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Summerlin Malpass; and a niece, Codi Lynn Malpass.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Hardison Summerlin; four children, Lucy Summerlin and husband, Jack Hernandez of Mount Olive, Crystal Summerlin Page and husband, Gary, of Rose Hill, Anthony Knowles and wife, Krystal, of Kenansville, and Donna Summerlin Bateman and husband, Walter, of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Jackston Ray Moore, Summerlin Rae Page, Jansley Page, Garrison Page, Olivia Knowles, Jade Knowles, Hannah Bateman, and Caroline Bateman; a nephew, Ayden Hernandez; a niece, Kayla Myers Denning and her family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 20, at 7 p.m. from Tyndall Funeral Home. Officiating will be Michael Sykes, Bernie Rackley, and Cecil Swinson. Following the service, a visitation will be held. Burial will be Saturday, August 21, at 11 a.m. at the Donald Ray Summerlin Family Cemetery located at the residence.
