Masks will be required in all Wayne County Government facilities.
Tuesday, the county commissioners voted 6 – 1 to make masks mandatory for anyone entering a Wayne County Government building.
Commissioner Bevan Foster made the motion and wanted it to remain in effect for more than 30 days.
County Manager Craig Honeycutt says there are instances where county employees can take off their masks, including while they’re alone in their own offices.
However, the masks will be required in public or common areas in the facilities.
The county’s mask mandate takes effect Monday, August 23, and will remain in place until further notice.
