Lieutenant Samuel Platt, 71, passed on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at home. The celebration of his life will be held graveside on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00 am at Carver Memorial Park, S. Breazeale Ave, Mt. Olive, NC. There will be a viewing held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Northeast Chapel FWB Church, 503 E. James Street Ext., Mt. Olive, NC.

He was born on March 3, 1950 in Wayne County, NC to Reverend Thomas “T.T.” Platt and Pearlie Kelly Platt. He is survived by two children: Derrick (Donishia) Platt and Bianca Platt; five grandchildren; siblings, other relatives and friends.
