Roy Thomas Joyner, age 68, passed away at his residence on Tuesday. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Ashley White Joyner and the late Lucy Elizabeth Hall Joyner. Roy enjoyed time spent outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was well known for his love to talk and chase women.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am by the graveside at Pineview Cemetery. Family members will greet friends at the grave following the service.

Roy is survived by his son, Jasper Joyner; his daughter, Rebekah Joyner; his brothers, Robert Joyner and James Joyner; his sisters, Elizabeth Pierce and Linda Joyner Davis; seven grandchildren; and his special friend, Brenda Champion.

In Lieu of flowers, the family ask memorial contributions be directed to the funeral home to assist with costs.
