The Goldsboro City Council may vote to select the city’s new leader this evening.
On tonight’s agenda, the council plans to decide if they have enough information to appoint the new Mayor of Goldsboro.
The seven remaining applicants vying for the position are:
- Stefanie Love Bostic
- Elton R. Brewington
- David Leonard Craig
- Walter David Ham
- Charles Edward Henry
- Roderick Cornell White
- Kaelon M. Williams.
To avoid any conflict of interest, council members being considered for mayor will not be allowed to vote for themselves.
The vacant mayoral seat occurred as a result of Mayor Chuck Allen resigning as of June 15th due to health concerns.
The selected individual will serve for the remainder of the term, which will end in November 2023.
