Mary Love Ledbetter Bartley, 89, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care, surrounded by her family. Born in Perry County, Tennessee on January 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Fred Roscoe Ledbetter and Matie Louise Lomax Ledbetter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Ned Bartley; son-in-law, Charles Oliver; and sister, Nina Ballard.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Shirley Ann Edwards and husband, Mark of Cary and Sandy Kay Oliver of Goldsboro; brother, Joe Ledbetter of Linden, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Michael Hachten, Toby Hachten, and Katie Clark and husband, Gary; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Hachten, Andrew Hachten, Stephanie Clark, Angela Clark, Christoper Clark, and Rachel Clark; and was anticipating the birth of Stephanie and Nick’s child, her first great-great-grandchild.

Mary was a volunteer with Yoke Fellow Prison Ministry for over 30 years. She attended Pentecostal Christian Assemblies in Goldsboro.

A graveside service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton with Rev. Jackie Ham officiating. The family respectfully requests that those attending the service wear a facial covering and practice social distancing measures. Mary will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Seymour Funeral Home, the family will not be present during this time.
