Jennifer Rains Worrell, 51, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born on March 29, 1970, she was the daughter of Jenettie Sasser Rains and the late Dalma Ray Rains.

In addition to her mother, Jennifer is survived by her son, Trevor Ray Worrell (Jessica Flood) special grandson, Brodie; and brother, George Ray Rains. Jennifer is also survived by her special K9 companion, Shiloh.

Jennifer graduated from Wayne community college with a degree in criminal justice. She worked at the solid waste department as a safety officer and administrator assistant for fifteen years.

Being by the water is where Jennifer felt most comfortable. Nothing would excite her more than feeling the tug on the other end of her fishing line, hoping the next fish was bigger than the last. With each cast of her fishing pole, Jennifer felt a true joy unlike any other. Her favorite fishing partner was her son, Trevor, as he was right there by her side. Jennifer loved being on the golf course and taking her son any chance she had.

A graveside service to celebrate Jennifer’s life will be held on August 6, 2021 at 3:30 PM at the Hastings Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 PM at Seymour Funeral Home prior to the service.
