6:00 pm 8/9/21 Update on shooting at 103 Wells Court in Dudley:

After a diligent investigation by Detectives of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office on Friday afternoon and evening, Detectives developed 25-year-old Nehemiah J. Armwood as a suspect in the shooting of Emmette Tavarus Hill. Armwood was located during the early morning hours of Saturday in Clinton and was taken into custody without incident. Also taken into custody was Armwood’s girlfriend 22-year-old Ashlyne S. Jones. Deputies with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest of Armwood and Jones.  Both Armwood and Jones were placed in the custody of the Wayne County Jail under secured bonds.  This investigation is still ongoing at this time.
