Princeton Wins Wells Fargo Cup

In a year like none before, high school athletics managed to complete regular seasons and award conference championships, providing student-athletes across the state valuable opportunities to compete, grow and learn in an education-based setting.

There were numerous schools that excelled across many sports in their conference competitions, and those schools were recently awarded the Wells Fargo Conference Cup for their respective conferences.

The Wells Fargo Cup is presented to the top overall athletic program in each conference from around the state in the four classifications and is based on regular-season performances within conference play and recognizes the best performances within each conference.

The award is based on the number of sports each school has and how high they finish in the conference standings.

And after another successful season, Princeton claimed the Wells Fargo Cup for the Carolina 1A Conference for the 2020-21 school year.

The Bulldogs rolled to a conference cup title in the Carolina 1A Conference, holding off a good challenge from second place Rosewood 92-86.5.

Princeton won the conference championships in football, volleyball, boys’ and girls’ golf, girls’ tennis, boys’ and girls’ track and field, and boys’ and girls’ basketball.
