Lynda Kay McQueen Carroll, 83, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 at her home. Born in Guilford County on May 19, 1938 to the late Ira McQueen and Bea Maness McQueen.

In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles Jay Carroll, Jr.; son, Chris Carroll; and brother, Kirby McQueen.

Lynda is survived by her daughter, DeAnne Carroll; son, Kevin Carroll; grandsons, Kevin Carroll, Jr., Howard David Carroll, and Kristian Carroll; great-grandchildren, Parker Carroll and Elijah Carroll; sister, Sharon McQueen Kincaid; and brother, Jimmy McQueen.

Lynda was originally from Greensboro, NC and had a loving relationship with her parents, brother, Jimmy; sister, Sharon Kincaid; and numerous nieces and nephews. She had a full and rich life full of laughter, family, and travel. Lynda loved to go with her best friend of over 40 years, Candy Smith, to Las Vegas and Atlantic City after the death of her husband, Charles Carroll, Jr. She was an amazing cook and even went as a contestant to the Pillsbury Bake-Off one year! Lynda won many first-place ribbons at the Wayne County Fair for her pies! She loved to sing and was in the Third Century Singers and many community productions off and on for her entire adult life. Lynda sang to her children and in too many church choirs to list… She was devoted to her husband, Charles Carroll, Jr. and son, Chris Carroll, before their deaths. Lynda loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her constant companion, Punky. She will be sorely missed by everyone and anyone who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate her life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel, with Rev. Barry Williamson officiating. Interment will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery.
