Goldsboro City Council members are now deciding who they want to be the city’s next mayor.
Monday evening, the council listened to presentations from the eight qualified applicants seeking the mayor’s office.
The applicants are:
- Stefanie Love Bostic
- Elton R. Brewington
- David Leonard Craig
- Walter David Ham
- Charles Edward Henry
- Alicia Britt Pierce
- Roderick Cornell White
- Kaelon M. Williams
At the end of her presentation, Alicia Britt Pierce rescinded her application and withdrew her name from consideration for the mayoral seat.
Applicants Trenton Devone Haire and Dexter Shakiel Taylor were already ruled ineligible due to their residency outside of the Goldsboro city limits.
The Goldsboro City Council plans to vote to appoint the new mayor at the August 16th meeting.
To avoid any conflict of interest, council members being considered for mayor will not be allowed to vote for themselves.
