Paula Summerlin Malpass, 52, a lifelong resident of the Summerlin’s Crossroads community, Mount Olive, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Onslow County Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.

A Service of Remembrance will be Saturday, July 31, at 2 p.m. at Rooty Branch Church followed by visitation.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to assist the family with final expenses, that would be appreciated.

Paula was a member of the 1987 graduating class of North Duplin High School. Her working career took her to several area sewing factories, to the Goldsboro News-Argus as a paper carrier, and lastly, as a letter carrier for the Mount Olive Post Office.

Paula is survived by her husband, Gary L. Malpass, of the home; a daughter, Kayla Myers Denning and husband, Lee, of Mount Olive; grandchildren, Ayden Lee Hernandez, Stephen Lee Denning, Jr., and Hayleigh Denning, all of Mount Olive; a brother, Donald Ray Summerlin and wife, Wanda, of Mount Olive; a sister, Crystal Summerlin Page and husband, Gary, of Rose Hill; nieces, Lucy Summerlin of Mount Olive, and Donna Summerlin Bateman of Jacksonville, along with their families.

She now joins in death her beloved daughter, Codi Lynn Malpass; and her parents, Larry Clyde “Nub” and Edna Rae Whaley Summerlin.
