William Scott Lutz, 46, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Johnston Health in Smithfield.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Unity Fellowship Church in Rosewood. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Mitchell Family Cemetery in Rosewood.

Scott was born in Wayne County on June 5, 1975 to Cathy Lynch Lutz of Rosewood and the late William Lee Lutz. He was a graduate of Rosewood High School Class of 1994.

In addition to his mother, Scott is survived by his wife, Rachel P. Lutz; his sister, Diana Leigh Lutz of Princeton; his father-in-law, Kenneth Perkins of the home; step-daughter, Lexie Macala (Dominic Hand) of Princeton; step-grandson, Paul Toler and step-granddaughter, Addy, expected in August and numerous, aunts, cousins and other extended family and friends.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
