Dry Conditions Ease Locally, But Nearby In Central N.C.

Wayne County remains thoroughly hydrated thanks to recent rains.  However, dry and drought conditions are not far off.  This week’s map from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows Wayne County, as well as Lenoir County, remain free of drought.  However, just to the west, much of Central North Carolina is still listed as “Abnormally Dry.”  There are also “Moderate Drought” conditions creeping into the southern area of the state.
