Betty Jewel Vaughn Hooks, 79, passed away at her home on Friday, July 2, 2021.

She was born in Wayne County on April 10, 1942 to the late Herman Vaughn and Betty Greene Vaughn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Rand Hooks.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 at 10:00 am in the Hollowell Family Cemetery with the Reverend Dennis Pollock officiating.

She is survived by her son, Ralph Hooks of Goldsboro; daughters, Phyllis Ginn, Brenda Thornton, and Linda Hooks all of Goldsboro; brother, Herman Lester Vaughn of Texas; 3 grandchildren, Justin Hooks, Jessica Melvin and Meagan Taylor and 4 great grandchildren, Alley, Jala, Bella, Zaiden and Carson.
