The Town of Pikeville will mark Independence Day with a community celebration and fireworks show.

The Greater Pikeville Improvement Committee is holding the Fourth of July party Saturday evening, July 3, in Dees Memorial Park.

Pikeville Police Sgt. Rodney Jarman is the Chair of the G.P.I.C.

He tells GoldsboroDailyNews.com that bringing the fireworks show back to Pikeville was top priority for the group and the community.

The celebration runs from 6 – 10 PM this Saturday and includes food and beverage booths, a cornhole tournament, and demonstrations from the Wayne County Sheriff’s K-9 unit.

The fireworks will light up the sky over Pikeville at 9 PM.

Pikeville’s fireworks show is the lone fireworks display planned in Wayne County this weekend.
