Career Summit For Military-Related And Those Interested In Serving

A Military Career Summit is scheduled for Thursday, June 24.

Active duty military, transitioning military, military spouses, and veterans are encouraged to attend.

“In addition to military-connected individuals being invited, there is a special invitation to civilians ages 17 through 35 who might be interested in a career in the military to participate,” said Renita D. Allen Dawson, Wayne Community College vice president for workforce continuing education and community engagement.

It will be held at the National Guard Armory at 700 US 117 Bypass South in Goldsboro.

Workshops and panel discussions are scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon. Included are a military spouse panel, military-friendly employer panel, “Financial Planning from the Start,” “Well-Being in the Workplace,” and “A Closer Look: Post-Military Career Workshops.”

A career fair is set for 1-3 p.m.

Partnering organizations include the Eastern Carolina Workforce Development Board, N.C. Army National Guard, N.C. Works Career Center, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Airman and Family Readiness Center, University of Mount Olive, and Wayne Community College.
