Late Monday afternoon, a single vehicle accident occurred on the 900 block of O’Berry Road near Herring Road.  Firefighters from Dudley along with Wayne County EMS Station 8 were dispatched to the scene involving a motorcycle. As fire and EMS arrived, they found the female operator lying in a shallow ditch just a few feet from the bike.  She was quickly loaded onto the EMS truck and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The accident apparently occurred as the motorcyclist was traveling east on O’Berry Road just past Herring Road. She came into the curve, ran off the left side of the road, struck the ditch bank and lost control. The accident is under investigation by the State Highway Patrol and charges are pending.
