June 13, 2021, 86, Goldsboro –

Margaret Jean Hinson Ham, 86, was greeted at the gates of heaven by her Savior on Sunday, June 13, 2021. Jean was born in Goldsboro, NC to the late Lewis and Lillie Davis Hinson on March 1, 1935. A great celebration and welcome was offered to Jean upon her arrival by her parents; her husband, Roy Ham; her son, David Ham; her daughter, Sandy Ham and her sister, Evelyn Walters.

“Miss Jean” as she was affectionally known by everyone, enjoyed life and spending time with her family. She was a valued employee of Wayne Christian School Daycare in Goldsboro for 27 1/2 years. However, her greatest joy was when she was able to talk about God and the Bible. Always actively involved with her church, Faith Free Will Baptist Church, Jean taught all of her children by example by her generosity to others and service to her Lord. She will be missed, but greatly remembered.

Jean is survived by her grandchildren, Erin Ham and Damien Ham; great-grandson, Nicholas Ham; several nieces and nephews she loved very much including special nieces, Carolyn Lawrence and Teresa Grew; and a special member of her family, Tammy Lawrence.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Miss Jean’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Walter Sloan officiating. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
