On Monday June 7, Derek Forsythe, passed away at the age of 47. Derek grew up in Wilmington but called Princeton home as that is where he and his wife, Deane, built their life. He was an electrician by trade, but his passion was creating, and his creativity knew no limits. Derek had a knack for writing songs on a whim, building motorcycles on a shoestring budget and was loved by many for his quick wit and infectious laugh. He loved long pipes, loud bikes, and having a good time. The only thing he loved more was his family.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Deane, his four children Donovan, Andrew, Dylan, and Abby, two grandsons, his mother Joy and her husband Walt, his father Donnie and his wife Gloria. Derek is also survived by his brothers Mike, Kirk, Cody and their families and his sister Lauren who shares his wild spirit. He also leaves behind his work family at Bitting Electric as well as neighbors and friends he loved like family.
