June 4, 2021, 83, Selma –

Sherwood Glenn Matthews, 83, of Selma, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Harnett County on August 21, 1937 to the late Clyde Leonard Moody and Letha Mae Matthews.

In addition to his parents, Sherwood is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Hobson Matthews; sons, Richard Arthur Matthews and Norwood Glenn Matthews; brothers; Mike Marshburn and Donnie Marshburn; granddaughter, Danyelle Sutton; and grandson, Scotty McLamb.

Sherwood is survived by his four daughters; Salina Smith, Tammy Matthews, Vicky Matthews, and Nicole Bastin; ten grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

A family gathering will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 8:30 pm at Melissa Baker’s house located at 5630 Antioch Church Road, Middlesex, NC 27557.
