May 31, 2021, 39, La Grange –
Dustie Dawn Elmore was released from the cares of this life on May 31, 2021. She was born in Wayne County on April 9, 1982. Dustie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. W.V. and Edna Denning; maternal uncle, Thomas Denning; and her nephew, Joshua Gray.
Dustie was the very embodiment of brilliance. From her smile to her knowledge base, her inner light shone brightly. An academic scholar, Dustie was at the top of her class in college and was also fluent in Spanish.
With a heart of pure gold, Dustie was empathetic and present help to anyone in need. She had a great affection for animals and did all she could to love those in her care. She was the most outgoing of any extrovert and could make friends easily. Even if she didn’t know you, Dustie was going to strike up a conversation. She was quite the talker, and once she got started it was hard to make her stop.
Dustie loved the beach and the sun. With her Native-American heritage, she could seemingly step into the sun and have a beautiful tan automatically. Nothing soothed her more than a day with the sun, the sand, and the sound of waves crashing.
Though Dustie left far too soon, her love and goodness will live on through her children and family.
A service to celebrate and honor Dustie’s life will be held Friday, June 4, 2021, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home. The family will welcome friends from 3-3:45 p.m. for a time of visitation.
Dustie is survived by her greatest joy, her three children: Chandler, Taylor, and Connor Price; her mothers, Janet Denning and Teresa Huggins; sister, Sherrie Cass and husband, Robb, and their children, Sydney and Tyler Gray Cass; paternal grandmother, Rosa Faye Elmore; maternal uncle, Dr. Walter Denning, Jr. and wife Connie; paternal uncle, Sidney Elbert Elmore, Jr.; paternal aunt, Shirley Elmore Hughes; cousins, Walter Denning III, Ashely Denning Harris, Amy Frost Schultze, Nicholas Denning, and Michael Lee Elmore.
Dustie loved flowers, and they are most welcome at her service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.
