Flash Flood Warning Issued For Wayne County

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Wayne County until 7:30 PM on Thursday.  At 4:22 PM, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Goldsboro, Mount Olive, Walnut Creek, Seven Springs, Brogden, Mar-Mac, Elroy, Cliffs Of The Neuse State Park and Grantham.

REMEMBER: Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
