UMO Plans Reunion Event For Ag Alumni

The University of Mount Olive will hold a reunion event for its agricultural alumni and their families on Saturday, June 26 at 3 PM at the Kornegay Student Farm. The event will include food, games, farm tours, and lots of fellowship. There is no cost to attend.

“We often use the word ‘family’ to describe the sense of community at the University of Mount Olive,” said Edward Olive Director of the Lois G. Britt Agribusiness Center at UMO and a 2012 graduate. “Every family needs a reunion, and we are so excited to welcome back our graduates and their families to celebrate the success and growth at UMO that all of our alumni have had a hand in creating. We look forward to catching up with our graduates and their families at the Kornegay Student Farm for the Ag Alumni Reunion! We can’t wait for them to see where the agriculture program is now. ”

“The UMO agriculture program has been successful because of the students that have helped build it through the years,” said Dr. Sandy Maddox, Dean of the School of Agriculture and Biological Sciences. “Now, as graduates, these alumni are making the same impact on the agricultural industry and rural communities in which they live and work. Our alumni have cultivated careers, families, and businesses across the state. We want to celebrate these accomplishments and encourage alumni involvement to help chart our course in the future just as they have in the past.”

Ag alumni are encouraged to register by June 10 at http://umo.edu/agalumnirenion/. The rain date for the event will be Sunday, June 27 at the same location. For more information contact [email protected] or [email protected].
