Arnold Neil Jackson, 69, passed away Friday afternoon May 21 at his home in the Calypso community. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Christopher Neil “Chris” and Lara Jackson of Mount Olive; his daughter and son-in-law Victoria Lee Jackson-Carter and Kevin of Cary; a granddaughter, Lilly Katherine “Lilly Kate” Carter of Cary; a grandson, Thomas Jonathan Jackson of Mount Olive; and a soon coming grandson, Andrew Neil Jackson; a brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Meg Jackson of Mount Olive; a niece, Courtney Jackson Lambert and husband Jim; and their daughters’ Ella James and Olivia, all of Mount Olive. Neil is also survived by two very special, close farm assistants who he considered family, Bartolo Zelaya, and Leroy Graham; and two very special care givers to Neil, Christina Sanchez, and Brenda Jones.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Lee and Dorothy Grantham Jackson; his wife, Connie Brannan Jackson; and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Brannan.

Neil was raised in the very familiar grocery store of his parents; A. L. Jackson Grocery, where he and his brother Danny would later operate. They would eventually evolve into the Auto business which became Jackson Brothers Auto. Neil also loved horses and life on the farm in Calypso, and attended church at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral Services for Neil will be held on Tuesday, May 25, at 11 o’clock in the morning in the Chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Dail will officiate the service, with burial following in Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the hour prior to the funeral beginning at 10 a.m., and at other times at Neils residence off Albritton Road, Mount Olive.
