On May 16th, a Wayne County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a welfare check on an individual found asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle in a Circle K parking lot on Highway 70 West. The driver, 48-year-old Steven S. Herring of Dudley, was allegedly found to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested for Possession of Schedule II. Her was left in the custody of the Wayne County Jail with bond set at $2,000 unsecured.
