May 14, 2021, 67, Mount Olive –

Wanda Sue Jones Strickland, resident of East Pine Forest, Mount Olive, passed away Friday afternoon, May 14, 2021, at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was 67.

Mrs. Strickland had worked at the Boling Company and Young Squire Industries, but her main goal was the happiness and security of her family, and she excelled at being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Mount Olive.

Mrs. Strickland is survived by her husband, Larry Ray Strickland, of the home; two sons, Shawn Strickland of Mount Olive, and Larry Ray Strickland II and his girlfriend, Stephanie Elsey, of Mount Olive; seven grandchildren, Kristen S. Rosser, Caroline S. Stovall, Dylan Strickland, Christopher “Bubba” Strickland, Rebecca Strickland, Hailey Strickland, and Trey Strickland; and a brother, Jimmy Jones of Saulston. Also special to the Strickland family is Chachi Torres and family of Mount Olive.

Loved ones preceding her in death include a son, Chris Strickland; and her parents, Floyd Joseph Jones and Dorothy Grant Jones.

Funeral services will be held by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro, on Tuesday, May 18, at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Bob Parker. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the cemetery.
