May 13, 2021, 58, Goldsboro –

Somkhit Keokanya, 58, of Goldsboro passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 17, 2021 from 2 until 2:45 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with a Buddhist ritual following at 3 p.m.

He was born in Laos on August 7, 1962 to the late Mai and Khammy Khongsy Keokanya.

He is survived by his wife, Sophea Bun Keokanya; one daughter, Amanda Keokanya; four brothers, Minit, Bandith, Brandon and Prasit Keokanya and three sisters, Phitsamay, Noopean and Deaun.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Nouleuan Keokanya.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
