Monday afternoon, a small crowd gathered at the Southern Bank parking lot at Center and Main streets in Mount Olive for the unveiling of the new Mount Olive Historical Wall. Mayor Kenny Talton greeted the attendees and was followed by Grey Morgan who spoke about the Mainstream Focus. Mount Olive Attorney Carrol Turner talked about the post mile mile marker near the railroad tracks and pointed it out on the mural. The mural’s artistic development was done by artists Heather Williams and Beth Hill. Mount Olive Town Commissioner Barbara Kornegay gave a shout out to all of the community partners involved in the project. The mural is made up of eight panels carefully placed on the wall facing the intersection of Center and Main streets.
