On Wednesday, the Wayne County Board of Commissioners met with Wayne County’s General Assembly delegation to receive a legislative review and update.
Representative John R. Bell, IV shared positive news regarding CARES Act funding and American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding that will be distributed to the County, municipalities, and the public school system. Representative Bell also discussed help for hog farmers in Wayne County, public transportation concerns, and other infrastructure needs.
“We appreciate the invitation from Representative Bell and Senator Perry to meet in Raleigh,” said Chairman George Wayne Aycock, Jr. “We appreciate the support from our representatives and look forward to continuing working with them to see the needs of Wayne County met.”
“It is always good to hear from our county commissioners and county management team,” added Representative Bell. “We have a long history of working together, and it is important to sit down together and discuss what both groups are working on for the citizens we represent.”
