Goldsboro – Mother Mable S. Langston, 88, passed on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Greendale Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Snow Hill, NC. The celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2:30pm at the Goldsboro-Raleigh District Assembly (GRDA), 211 West Hooks River Road, Goldsboro, NC with Elder James E. Collins officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Buckhorn Memorial Garden, 1064 Bryan Blvd, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a visitation held on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC.

Mother Langston was a proud graduate of Dillard High School Class of 1950 and Fayetteville State University 1954. She was a member and Trustee of Goldsboro Chapel FWB Church. She was a a proud member of the Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Her greatest reward was the 42 years of service with the Goldsboro City School System.

She was born on October 7, 1932 in Wayne County, NC to John Sutton and Grace Spruill Sutton. She is survived by a daughter, Anjanette Langston Reed; two sons: Donald “Dee” Pollock, III and Jarran K. Reed; her great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zebedee “Zeb” Langston Jr.; her great children: Victoria Coleman, Karter Reed, Jacey Reed, Jorie Reed and Bradleigh Reed; sister-in-law, Rosa B. Freeman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
