April 21, 2021, 85, Seven Springs –

Jimmie Carlton Deaver, age 85, passed away on Wednesday at his residence in Suffolk, VA with his family at his side. He was the son of the late Aaron and Eula Mae Casper Deaver. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and an avid golfer. Jimmie completed a distinguished military career retiring from the U.S. Army and serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the Nansemond River Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday at noon at Pineview Cemetery near Seven Springs with Rev. Dalton Carraway, Jr. officiating. Family members will greet friends Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Mr. Deaver is survived by his wife, Lavonne Deaver; two sons, Timothy Deaver and Gregory Deaver; a sister, Dean Baca; a grandson, Gregory Wayne Deaver; and three great grandchildren, Madison Deaver, Jacob Deaver and Kayla Powell.
