Firefighters are on the scene of a wood fire along U.S 117 Alt. near Gold Park Lake this afternoon.  As of 4:30 PM, the wood fire was causing heavy smoke in the area.  The fire caused U.S. 117 Alt. to be closed south of Mar-Mac.  Around 6:15 PM, the road had reopened to traffic.  Breezy conditions and low relative humid have led to an risk for increased fire danger across the region today.
