Everyone 16+ Eligible To Receive COVID-19 Vaccine In Wayne County

The push is on to get all Wayne County residents inoculated against the coronavirus now that everyone age 16 and up is eligible to receive the vaccine.

At Tuesday’s meeting of the Wayne County Board, County Manager Craig Honeycutt urged everyone to get their shot.

The county is administering the vaccine at the Bussmann Building on Dixie Trail in Goldsboro.

First shots are being given Monday and Friday while second shots are administered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

You can register to receive the COVID-19 vaccine through the Wayne County Health Department by visiting waynegov.com/vaccine.

According to Tuesday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, 27,576 (22.4%) people have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine in Wayne County while 21,120 (17.2%) people have been fully vaccinated.

Statewide, over 6.5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered with roughly 35% of residents age 18 and up fully vaccinated against the virus.
