Wayne County residents are reminded of the efforts to take care of our youngest residents.
This is the Week of the Young Child as well as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Valerie Wallace from the Partnership for Children of Wayne County appeared at last week’s meeting of the Wayne County Commissioners to help present the Week of the Young Child Proclamation.
Wallace talked about the Partnership’s programs, including the family support programs that help assist with parenting skills.
She says the Partnership has been extensively involved with the Wayne County Health Department during the pandemic in an effort to keep all of the county’s childcare facilities open and safe.
During the pandemic, the Partnership for Children has helped provide childcare facilities with cleaning supplies and other needs so staff can continue their work.
Wallace reminds the non-profit Partnership for Children of Wayne County is a Smart Start agency funded through the state.
The Wayne County Board of Commissioners and Goldsboro City Council have both proclaimed this week as the Week of the Young Child.
