Child Abuse Prevention Month In Wayne County

Child Abuse Prevention Month In Wayne County

Wayne County is reminded to take care of our youngest residents.

This is the Week of the Young Child as well as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Kriquette Davis presented the Child Abuse Prevention Month Proclamation at last week’s Wayne County Board meeting.

Davis says it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure kids grow up protected and with their innocence intact.

She suggests watching for changes in a child’s behavior as a potential sign of abuse.

Davis also says the is likely going to be rise in child abuse during the pandemic as many kids have been home more and missing out on interactions with others who might notice the signs of abuse.

You may also notice the blue “Pinwheels for Prevention” throughout the community helping to raise awareness of child abuse prevention.

The Wayne County Board of Commissioners and Goldsboro City Council have both proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
