Berkeley Boulevard Closure Planned For Track Maintenance

Norfolk Southern officials have informed the N.C. Department of Transportation they plan to close North Berkeley Boulevard (U.S. 13) at its crossing on Monday for maintenance.  They also have planned two other road closures next week in Goldsboro for track work.

The U.S. 13 closure will begin around 8 a.m. They will remove the track crossing and old asphalt and resurface the crossing before reopening the road by the end of Monday.

Although local residents may opt to take some side-street detours, NCDOT will direct traffic on U.S. 13 to use the U.S. 70 Bypass, U.S. 117 (N. William Street) and U.S. 70 to go around the closure.

Drivers who normally use this route should plan ahead as their commute will take longer, and they should approach the work site cautiously.

Norfolk Southern has also planned these two track closures in Goldsboro. Each will last one day, and Norfolk Southern contractors will post detour signs.
