Family Seeks Answers After Pedestrian Injured In Crash

Family members are hoping witnesses may provide further information on an accident that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

The accident occurred around 6 AM Monday on N. Berkeley Boulevard near Northwood Drive.  A 43-year-old Goldsboro resident was out for a morning jog when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.  The pedestrian ended up being transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where he was last listed critical condition.

According to the Goldsboro Police Department report, the driver stated the pedestrian was in the roadway when he was struck.  However, the pedestrian says he was on the sidewalk, and the GPD’s report indicates the vehicle struck the curb and left the roadway before striking the jogger.

The GPD report says the driver was charged with Failure to Maintain Lane Control.

The family of the pedestrian has asked that anyone who may have witnessed the accident to come forward, and the Goldsboro Police Department tells GoldsboroDailyNews.com they would be happy to speak to anyone with further information on the accident.
