Softball: C.B. Aycock Opens The Season With Two Straight Wins

The C.B. Aycock softball team opened its season with two straight wins.

The Golden Falcons defeated New Bern 3-2 on Tuesday. Then on Thursday, C.B. Aycock toppled J.H. Rose 9-1.

In the New Bern game, McKenzie Millard went 2-3 with a stolen base, Emma Smith was 1-3 and Annsleigh Rouse went 1-2.

Shawna Williams got the win on the mound. Williams pitched seven innings, gave up one earned run and tossed five strikeouts.

In the win against J.H. Rose, Millard went 2-3 from the plate with a double, one RBI and two stolen bases. Laci Best and Rouse both were 2-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Williams was once again the winning pitcher.

Williams pitched a complete game, gave up zero earned runs and struck out 10 batters.

C.B. Aycock (2-0 overall) travels to D.H. Conley (3-0) on Tuesday,
