Rosewood 48, Hobbton 41

Rosewood scored three touchdowns in the third quarter and held off a fourth-quarter rally from Hobbton en route to a 48-41 win over Hobbton on the  Carolina 1A Conference football scene on Friday night.

The Eagles’ dynamic running back, Avante George, rushed for 206 yards and three touchdowns, while quarterback Will Harris completed seven passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

Logan Merritt led Rosewood (3-0 overall) with 94 receiving yards receiving and one touchdown. John White also caught a touchdown pass.

“It must have been a great game to watch, but it was a tough one to coach. Games like this take years off my life,” Rosewood head coach Robert Britt said. “So proud of how our kids battled. It wasn’t pretty, and we have a lot of things we have to correct, but our kids battled. Hats off to Hobbton’s players and coaches. They outcoached us and outplayed us in many aspects of the game.”

Rosewood hosts Lakewood (0-3) next Friday.
