Rep. Bell Files Bill To Fund New Rosewood Middle School

A local representative in the N.C. General Assembly is trying to get a new Rosewood Middle School built.

House Majority Leader John Bell (R-Wayne) filed House Bill 237 on Monday which would allocate $20 million to Wayne County for the school’s construction.

Rep. Bell tells GoldsboroDailyNews.com the funding for the improved Rosewood Middle was already included in the last biennial budget, but the budget was vetoed by the governor.

Bell says conditions at the aging Rosewood Middle School have not improved over the last two years.

Rep. Bell says he worked with local school and county officials while putting together this proposal.

The current Rosewood Middle School was constructed nearly 100 years ago.
